Leslie and Rick Johnson are a husband and wife team that comprises Garden Living Design. Together, they create distinctive sculptural pieces inspired by the lush beauty of our Hawaiian landscape. Every hand-cast stone design
originates as an individual leaf, gathered from the island’s flourishing surroundings or their own thriving botanical garden in North Kohala on the Island of Hawaii.

“We are profoundly grateful to be able to honor, in our own way, the richness, color, depth and diversity of our natural environment. Each piece is unique, singular, and sculpted from a leaf that has its own story to tell. Our hope in every cast piece is to give voice to the leaf’s original essence, the intrinsic nature and indispensable quality of its character, especially that which is abstract or imperfect.”

Each one-of-a-kind piece is signed, J. Jardin. The signature is with purpose, translating to “Johnson Garden” in French, and is meant to give reverence to the ‘aina and flora at the home of Garden Living Design, from which so many of the sculptures originate.
